The Nature Conservancy (TNC), in partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation (GBRF), officially launched the Yap Resilience Hub project, marking a significant milestone in strengthening community and ecosystem resilience across the State of Yap.
Yap holds a deep and enduring cultural connection to the land and sea. The region’s coral reefs are not only a source of sustenance, but also a foundation of its traditions and identity. However, climate change, rising seas and growing pressures on the region’s marine resources pose significant threats to Yap’s coral reefs and the communities that depend on them. These challenges demand a united and innovative response.
