In the framework of The 7th World Conference on Marine Biodiversity, The Sea as a Good Cause - VLIZ and The secretariat of the National Decade Committee for Belgium award participation grants to promising early career marine scientists. We want to offer the young marine researchers the hands-on and in-depth experience of the conference.
10 full package participation grants, each worth 2.500 EUR, are available for Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) from the Global South, enrolled in a BSc-, MSc-, or PhD-programme or in a junior postdoctoral trajectory in marine science, and younger than 35. The 10 grants will be divided in the following categories:
4 grants will be awarded to ECOPs from the Global South of whom the supervisor is known within the network of the WCMB scientific committee,
4 grants will be awarded to ECOPs active at institutes related to VLIZ by its international collaborations, and
2 grants will be awarded to WoRMS editors from the Global South.
