The objective of this project is to formalize the experiences,
outcomes and lessons learned from previous GEF projects,
as well as major non-GEF initiatives involving coral reefs and
associated ecosystems. The project aims to comprehensively
Ice, snow and climate change are closely linked. The Global Outlook for Ice and Snow investigates those linkages. It also presents information on the trends in ice and snow, the outlook for this century and beyond and the consequences to ecosystems and human well-being of these changes.

Most of the marine protected areas (MPAs) around the world, estimated to number about 5000, have been established both on an ad hoc basis and through systematic planning processes. The
